Ajith Kumar's box office blockbuster, Good Bad Ugly, was taken down from Netflix just four months after it was made available for streaming. The action drama was no longer available on streaming platform in India. The OTT giant displayed an error warning when users tried to search the title. Adhik Ravichandran's film Good Bad Ugly also starred Jackie Shroff, Arjun Das, Prabhu, Prasanna, and Trisha Krishnan in important parts. The movie marked Ajith Kumar's return to action comedy genre.

Good Bad Ugly was removed from Netflix due to copyright violation issues. The removal follows a court decision that prohibited the makers from showing the movie featuring three Ilaiyaraaja songs. For those who are unaware, the movie did well in theaters and made Rs 248 crore worldwide in spite of the legal processes. On May 8, it was made available on Netflix in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Why Good Bad Ugly Taken Off From Netflix?

Producers Mythri Movie Makers received a legal notification from Ilaiyaraaja in April for using three of his songs in Good Bad Ugly without permission. In addition to requesting Rs 5 crore in compensation, the composer urged the producers to take out Ottha Ruba Tharen, En Jodi Manja Kuruvi, and Ilamai Idho Idho.

The producers of Good Bad Ugly were instructed by Justice N. Senthilkumar earlier this month to refrain from showing the movie with the songs. As a result, Ajith Kumar led actioner was taken down from Netflix. Nevertheless, the streamer has not made an official statement regarding the situation.

This is not the first time Ilaiyaraaja has fought for a copyright dispute over his compositions that were used without permission. In the past, he had sent legal notifications to the producers of Coolie and Manjummel Boys.

Meanwhile, Good Bad Ugly is about a fearless don who aspires to live a tranquil life. But as his son is abducted, his troubled history comes back to haunt him, forcing him to confront his adversaries. The main idea of the story is followed by what happens next. The action comedy pays homage to Ajith Kumar's star power and is a pure mass entertainment production.
