Mothevari Love Story On OTT: Popular YouTuber Anil Geela, known for his funny videos and real-life depiction of rural Telangana in My Village Show, is now stepping into the OTT world. He will make his debut as an actor in the upcoming Telugu web series Mothevari Love Story, which will stream on ZEE5 from August 8. Anil has won hearts online with his natural acting style and village-based content. In an exclusive chat with The Daily Jagran, he opened up about his journey from YouTube to an OTT platform for the first time. With 1.2 million subscribers and a loyal fanbase, Anil’s move to digital streaming has already got fans excited.

Anil Geela spoke with The Daily Jagran about his role in Mothevari Love Story. He said that his acting in the web series is just as natural and effortless as in his YouTube sketches. “A lot! In fact, when you watch the series, you’ll laugh and enjoy it throughout. It’s completely family-friendly, something you can watch comfortably with your kids as well. As for my performance, it’s very natural. You won’t even feel like I’m acting. If you’ve watched my vlogs, you’ll notice the same ease and timing in this series too, that’s how organic and true-to-self the acting is,” he shared.

Though Anil rose to fame with rural-based content, he doesn’t want to limit himself. He spoke about wanting to try new things and work in different genres. “While I loved doing rural content and it resonates with a large audience, I’m definitely looking forward to exploring diverse characters. You’ll soon see me in very different roles, not just as an actor, but also as a writer. In fact, my next project as a writer is starting in the coming month. I’m excited to explore various genres and showcase versatility in both writing and acting,” he added.

When asked about how much he earned from this OTT debut compared to YouTube, Anil said, “To be honest, the remuneration part is confidential, and we generally don’t discuss it publicly. But truthfully, we didn’t earn any money from this project. We did it purely for the name, fame, and the satisfaction of taking the next big step from YouTube to OTT. This project was pre-approved with a fixed budget, and we had to complete everything within that limit. We invested the entire budget into improving the quality of the output, be it in terms of camera, production value, or overall execution. We never compromised on quality, and to be very honest, we didn’t take a single rupee from this project for ourselves.”

About Mothevari Love Story Telugu Web Series

Mothevari Love Story is a romantic comedy web series written and directed by Shiva Krishna Burra. It brings the flavour of Telangana village life to digital audiences. The series is produced by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy and Srikanth Sriram under the banners of Madhura Entertainment and My Village Show. Along with playing the lead, Anil Geela has also worked as the editor of the show. Cinematography is by Sreekanth Arupula, and Charan Arjun has composed the music. The story is a mix of love, friendship, and fun, all set in a beautiful rural setting.
