G.V. Prakash is gearing up for his upcoming movie Blackmail. The movie is directed by Mu Maran, best known from Iravukku Aayiram Kangal. The announcement date for the movie was made on Saturday by the production house JDS Film Factory, which is backing the project. Blackmail stars G.V. Prakash in the lead role, along with actress Teju Ashwini.
Blackmail makers shared the announcement on their official X (formerly Twitter) page and wrote, “We are happy to announce our first production movie, #Blackmail — a gripping thriller drama — confirmed as an August 1st release, #BlackmailfromAug1." The movie is all set to release in theatres worldwide on August 1, 2025.

About Blackmail Cast And Crew
Srikanth, Bindhu Madhavi, Linga, Thilak Ramesh, and Muthukumar are also part of the cast in key roles. A Deivakani produced the movie, and Jayakodi Amalraj presented it under the banner of JDS Film Factory. The technical team of Blackmail appears to be very strong. Gokul Benoy handled the cinematography. The music was composed by Sam C.S., and the editing was done by San Lokesh. The action sequences were choreographed by Rajasekhar.
Meanwhile, in the first-look poster of Blackmail, G.V. Prakash is seen standing next to a motorcycle, which has a number plate that read ‘Money’. His expression shows confusion and worry, giving a hint of the tense story the film might follow.

About Actor G.V. Prakash Kumar
G.V. Prakash Kumar, born on June 13, 1987, is an Indian music composer, playback singer, actor, and film producer who mainly works in Tamil cinema. He began his journey in the film industry with Veyil (2006), produced by S Pictures. By the early 2010s, he had made a strong mark as a composer in Tamil movies. In 2015, he made his acting debut with the horror-comedy Darling. Over the years, he has received several awards for his contributions to cinema, including one National Award, three Filmfare Awards, and three SIIMA Awards.
On the other hand, G.V. Prakash Kumar was born to G. Venkatesh and playback singer A. R. Reihana. Reihana is the elder sister of renowned music composer A. R. Rahman, making Rahman Prakash’s maternal uncle. His younger sister, Bhavani Sre, is also a part of the film industry.
