Bobby Deol's career has been a rollercoaster ride. After a successful debut with Barsaat in 1995 and a string of hits, he faced a slump where his films flopped, leading people to ignore him. However, with his recent resurgence, those same people have started reaching out again. Bobby Deol said on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, "This was a slow process. For instance, people would meet me nicely, but they would soon go away and form their own groups and I would be left alone. "
"The number of invitations I got for parties started to decrease. It’s not like I would go to a lot of parties anyway. We Deols don’t go to a lot of parties. The same people who would be so warm with me (when I was at the top) started ignoring me. But that’s what they say; people are with you as long as you have something to offer," he said.
Bobby Deol stated that he doesn't hold grudges over people's past behavior, acknowledging that it was an expected part of the industry. He noted that after achieving renewed success with projects like Animal and Aashram, those very same people who had previously distanced themselves eventually returned to him.

Following a series of box office failures in the 2000s and 2010s that reduced his professional opportunities, Bobby Deol's resurgence began with Prakash Jha's web series, Aashram. This successful comeback was dramatically solidified by his acclaimed role as the antagonist in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 2023 blockbuster film, Animal. Most recently, Bobby Deol appeared in Aryan Khan's project, The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
