Border 2 Morning Show Cancelled: On the highly anticipated release day of Border 2, Friday, January 23, 2026, fans across India faced an unexpected hurdle. Despite the massive excitement surrounding Sunny Deol’s return to his iconic war franchise, several early morning screenings were abruptly cancelled due to a technical delay in delivering the film’s digital content to cinemas. According to reports, in major cities like Mumbai, eager moviegoers who had booked tickets for 7:30 am and 8:00 am shows arrived to find the cinema doors closed. At venues such as Maxus Borivali, management had to inform disappointed crowds that the film had not yet been downloaded.

According to industry reports, the film’s final edit was not ready for distribution until late Thursday night. Digital delivery platforms, including UFO Moviez, reportedly notified exhibitors that the download process would only begin at 6:30 am on Friday. Given the film’s substantial 192-minute runtime, the file size meant it would take several hours to prepare for projection. A senior trade expert noted before the launch, “The content is expected by midnight… Given the content status, morning shows look very difficult." While the very early slots were lost, many theatres have successfully shifted their focus to the 10:00 am and 11:00 am slots. Cinema owners have promised to accommodate those who missed their morning screenings later in the day. Despite the rocky start, the film is expected to recover quickly due to its monumental advance bookings.

Border 2 Box Office Prediction Day 1

The scale of the Border 2 fever is evident in the numbers. Approximately 4,09,117 tickets were sold before the first show even aired, generating a domestic advance total of £1.2 million (Rs 12.5 crore). Trade analysts are optimistic, predicting an opening day collection between Rs 32 crore and Rs 35 crore, bolstered by the Republic Day holiday weekend.
