BTS RM aka Kim Namjoon, added another feather to his cap as he won the Favourite Kpop Artist at the renowned music awards AMAs (American Music Awards). Notably, with this award, RM became the first kpop soloist to win AMAs. Apart from Namjoon, the Favourite K-Pop Artist category had several other big names in the nominations, including Ateez, BTS Jimin, BLACKPINK R and Stray Kids. Beating all the kpop stars, BTS Jin has created another record for himself after achieving this honour. Well, the news has brought happiness to all the RM fans. Netizens on social media flooded with congratulation messages. 

A user wrote, “Congratulations RM for winning "Favorite K-Pop Artist" at the 2025 #AMAS RM is the FIRST Kpop soloist in history to win an award at #AMAs RM ON AMAS FAVORITE KPOP RM CONGRATULATIONS RM CONGRATULATIONS NAMJOON #RMAMAs2025 #RM.” A fan commented, “Winning is the fkn best.” Another wrote, “WOAHH CONGRATULATION NAMJOON.” A tweet read, “Woooow!!!! Congratulations RM!” Another tweet read, “Go RM!! HISTORY MAKER RM CONGRATULATIONS RM.” A fan said, “Yeeeey congratulations to me and all those that voted furiously for RM you ARMYs rock.” 

RM in an Instagram story post thanked his fan following for his recent achievement. He wrote, "Thank You Army..." In another post shared by a fan page featuring the BTS band, the kpop star wrote, "Period, period, period." Check out the posts here.

Earlier in 2022, BTS received a group received the same award category. This time, after winning Kpop Artist, BTS RM has a dual AMAs awards. 

BTS RM's latest album was Right Place, Wrong Person, which released in May 2024. The hit studio album has 11 songs in total including the title song right people, wrong place; nuts, out of love, domodachi (feat. little simz), ? (interlude), groin, heaven, lost!, around the world in a day (feat. moses sumney), ㅠㅠ (credit roll) , come back to me. It was the second studio album of the popular Kpop star. The album won several accolades including, topping The 20 Best K-Pop Albums of 2024 (So Far): Staff Picks (Billboard USA) and The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2024: Staff Picks (Billboard USA) to name a few. 

Currently, RM is serving the mandatory military service. He will be discharged on June 10 this year. Along with RM, Jimin, Jungkook, V and Suga are set to discharge in June 2025.
