Superman is all set to hit the theatres. The DC movie, directed by James Gunn, features David Corenswet as the iconic superhero Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, the determined Daily Planet reporter and Kent's girlfriend. The undeniable chemistry between the lead actors was showcased not only in the film's trailers but also during promotional events, generating buzz around their on-screen romance. However, it appears that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was not entirely comfortable with the intensity of their romantic portrayal, potentially toning down the heat of their relationship for the Indian audience.

CBFC removes kissing scenes from Superman movie

In the movie, David and Rachel share two kissing scenes which have been removed by CBFC ahead of the film's release in India. The CBFC-approved theatrical version of the film didn't entirely remove the intimate scenes but trimmed several seconds to tone down their sensuality. According to Bollywood Hungama, a total of 33 seconds were cut.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman is all set to release on July 11, 2025. In India, fans can catch the superhero film in theaters on the same day. According to BookMyShow, the 3D format of the movie will be widely available, with more screens allocated to this format compared to the 2D version.

The movie promises to deliver high-octane action, a fresh narrative and record-breaking box office buzz as the first official film in the new DC Universe (DCU). With David Corenswet taking on the iconic role of Superman, Rachel Brosnahan playing Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, this film is expected to generate significant excitement among fans.
