Dacoit Box Office Collection Day 1: Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, has officially made its theatrical debut today, April 10, 2026. Early trade reports suggest that the film’s pan-India ambitions may be facing a difficult reality at the box office. While the film showed promising signs internationally, crossing the $100,000 mark in North American advance bookings, the domestic performance in India has been notably subdued.
On BookMyShow, Dacoit managed to sell only 25,000 tickets in the two days prior to its release. This stands in stark contrast to recent Telugu blockbusters like The RajaSaab, which moved 500,000 tickets in a similar timeframe. Trade experts estimate that the film achieved roughly Rs 6 crore in worldwide gross through advance bookings. However, domestic net figures are looking less optimistic. In fact, current trends suggest it may struggle to hit Rs 5 crore, which would see it open lower than the sleeper hit Anaganaga Oka Raju (Rs 5.5 crore) and the war drama Ikkis (Rs 7 crore).
One of the primary hurdles for Dacoit is the continued dominance of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2. Now in its fourth week, the spy thriller remains the first choice for many cinema-goers. Having already amassed over Rs 1,650 crore gross worldwide, the Ranveer Singh-led sequel is expected to out-earn Dacoit even today, with projected Friday earnings of around Rs 7 crore.
Meanwhile, the decision to delay Dacoit from its original March 19 slot was specifically intended to avoid the heat of the Dhurandhar release. However, the momentum of the spy franchise has proven so strong that it continues to squeeze out newer releases.
Directed by Shaneil Deo and featuring Anurag Kashyap in pivotal role, the film tells an intense story of a wrongly convicted man.
