Dharmendra's Ikkis Co-Star Suhasini Mulay Remembers Him
In an interview with News18, Suhasini shared her experience of working with Dharmendra in the film. She shared, "I fondly remember this one scene with Dharmendra ji. His character is leaving to go to a college reunion after 50-60 years. My character teases him, ‘Haan haan, tum jaaoge toh Huma se zaroor milna.’ Our son asks him who Huma is. We were supposed to end the scene on this note. But Dharmendra ji says, ‘Huma is Huma. Can’t forget her.’"
Praising his comic timing, Suhasini stated, "Even though he was old and ailing, he hadn’t lost his sense of timing at all. We did very little work on Ikkis as I had only had very few scenes with him."

Suhasini also shared a memorable incident from the Ikkis set. She said, "He was a very grounded man despite being such a big superstar. I remember that we were staying at a five-star hotel. He was speaking to our director Sriram Raghavan. He was telling him that he wanted to eat a parantha but he wasn’t allowed to have it. I told him that I just had a parantha. He told me, ‘Arrey, bol na tha. Mere liye aap smuggle kar leti ek do. Paranthe khaane chahiye – ghee daalke dahi ke saath khaane chahiye.’ We had a good laugh over it."

Suhasini also recalled how grounded and Chivalrous Dharmendra was. “He was very chivalrous. The first time that we met, he got up with some difficulty and offered me his chair. I told him to sit and that I would ask for another chair. But he told me, ‘Aap baithengi, tabhi main baithunga, nahi toh main kaise baith sakta hoon?’ He was such a huge star but he didn’t let anybody feel it at all. People would come and take photographs with him. He couldn’t stand up. But they would sit with him and click pictures. He never shooed anybody away," the actress added.
