Dhurandhar: Actor Ranveer Singh, under the direction of Aditya Dhar, seems to be venturing into an uncharted territory - one that is raw and brutual. He has long hair and a dangerously focused expression in his first appearance from Dhurandhar. He handles violent moments with swag and intense actions. The spy-drama also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt.

Dhurandhar, a real-life inspiration, is set in Pakistan and will span the years from the 1970s to the present. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Saini S. Johray, the production designer for Dhurandhar, opened up about the movie's recreation of Pakistani alleyways in Thailand.

The 'massive' sets for Dhurandhar took the det designers about three months to finish. The shooting started in July after he and his team completed the design in March and May and the reconnaissance in June. He added that because the movie was so big, his team of 12 designers worked 12 hours a day. "I think in my career, it’s one of those films that has the maximum number of locations," Saini S. Johray said.

Dhurandhar production designer also described how they replicated Pakistani streets, saying that in order to understand the geography of the particular region in Pakistan, they used newspaper clippings, old films, and headlines. Then they constructed a massive one on Madh Island and a 6-acre set in Thailand.

The designer explained that because they needed a sizable 6-acre venue, they couldn't shoot in a studio and couldn't shoot in Mumbai with such a large cast. Additionally, they were unable to construct a set in Mumbai because the filming was scheduled for July, when the city would be hit by intense monsoons. In order to construct a larger-than-life set, they traveled to Thailand, where the breathtaking scenery was perfect.

The enormous Bhindi Bazaar set was built in Thailand over the course of 20 days by about 500 Thai labourers. He added, "Thai people have no idea how Bhindi Bazaar looks, therefore I had to make sure everything looked really authentic and not at all like Thailand. If you look at the teaser, you won’t notice it!"
