Malayalam film Drishyam 3 has finally locked its release date. Mohanlal will reprise his role of Georgekutty in upcoming movie. On Saturday, makers announced the release date on social media. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the movie is being bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor.

Mohanlal took to his YouTube channel and unveiled the teaser video of Drishyam 3. The 40-second teaser for the upcoming film kicks off with a dramatic close-up of Mohanlal as Georgekutty, showcasing his unwavering dedication to protecting his family. The announcement video also gives fans a sneak peek into behind-the-scenes moments, including Mohanlal shaking hands with the producer and director.

The teaser ends with the text "Lights, camera, October" on screen, building anticipation for the film's release. Fans of the superstar's franchise were thrilled, with one commenter excitedly writing, "A classic criminal is back," while another fan posted, "Industry hit loading." Watch it here:

Mohanlal's Drishyam franchise has seen massive success, especially with the Hindi adaptation starring Ajay Devgn. The first film raked in nearly Rs 200 crore worldwide, while Drishyam 2 earned approximately Rs 350 crore globally in 2023. Now, Mohanlal is set to reprise his role as Georgekutty in Drishyam 3, which is scheduled to begin filming in October 2025, simultaneously with Ajay Devgn's Hindi version. The film promises to be another gripping installment in the franchise, potentially inspiring more remakes.

Ajay Devgn to shoot for Drishyam 3

According to Pinkvilla, Ajay Devgn will begin shooting for the Hindi version of Drishyam 3. According to Pinkvilla, a source said, "The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise, and hence they are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025. It's a marathon schedule, spanning 3 months at real locations in Maharashtra, as also the studio set up. Ajay Devgn has already allotted his dates for the film."
