Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been receiving widespread appreciation for his debut series The B***ds of Bollywood, with many praising his assured vision and confident storytelling. Among those impressed by his work is actor Gautami Kapoor, who plays a pivotal role in the show. Reflecting on her experience of working with Aryan, Gautami spoke in detail about his clarity of thought, hands-on approach and composure as a director, adding that his maturity was evident from the very beginning of the project.
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Gautami recalled her first interaction with Aryan during the script reading session. She shared that she initially observed him quietly, curious to see how he would conduct himself in a room filled with nearly 25 seasoned actors. According to her, Aryan walked in, began the reading with confidence, and demonstrated an impressive understanding of every character, regardless of the size of the role.
Gautami admitted she was left stunned by his command over the material, noting that at just 24 or 25 years of age, Aryan displayed remarkable clarity and maturity about a project he had not only written but was also set to direct.

Gautami further highlighted Aryan Khan’s uncompromising approach to his craft, describing him as a perfectionist who constantly pushed for the best possible outcome. She revealed that scenes rarely wrapped up in just a couple of takes, often requiring anywhere between 10 to 15 retakes. According to her, this demanding process applied to everyone on set, including actors like Bobby Deol and Manoj Bawa. While the intensity could be challenging, Gautami noted that it ultimately proved to be a rewarding experience for the entire cast. Gautami recalled that even Bobby Deol would occasionally grow irritated after having to repeat scenes 10 to 15 times.
Reflecting on Aryan’s upbringing, Gautami drew a warm connection between his values and those of his father, Shah Rukh Khan. Speaking fondly of the superstar, she shared a personal anecdote that left a lasting impression on her family. Gautami recalled that every time she visited the Red Chillies office and Aryan happened to be there, he would greet her with a hug and personally walk her to the lift, describing the gesture as a reflection of his humility and gracious upbringing.
