Diljit Dosanjh has been allowed to work on Border 2 amid the controversy around his latest release, Sardaar Ji 3. Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which earlier issued a non-cooperation order against the actor, has now lifted the ban on him. The president of the Film Body, BN Tiwari, confirmed it to India Today and stated that Border 2 producer Bhushan Kumar made a personal appeal to the federation to allow him to shoot for Sunny Deol’s Border 2. Tiwari said, “Yes, the ban has been revoked for this project.”

Amid Sardaar Ji 3 row, when Diljit Dosanjh was highly criticised for casting Pakistani artists, FWICE shared their disappointment of casting the actor to the makers of Border 2. The film body wrote the letter to the makers of the film, which includes Bhushan Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, T-Series, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta Producers, JP Films, and director Anurag Singh. The letter reads, “The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), representing the core workforce of the Indian film and television industry, is deeply disappointed and concerned by the casting of actor-singer Mr Diljit Dosanjh in your upcoming film Border 2 produced under the banner of JP Films in collaboration with T-Series and directed by Mr Anurag Singh.”

“By choosing to collaborate with an artist who has so brazenly ignored the ongoing tensions and national sentiment, your production has directly undermined the stand taken by the Indian film industry in solidarity with the nation,” the letter added.
