YouTuber Gaurav Taneja’s name has been getting highlighted every now and then for various reasons. Earlier, reports of him getting a divorce from his wife Ritu Rathee brought his name into the spotlight. Then, his strong stance on the tragic Air India plane crash surfaced online. And now, the popular pilot’s name has been buzzing online since the rumours of his participation in the reality show Bigg Boss spread. He recently took to his vlog to address all the rumours revolving around the same.
Gaurav Taneja revealed in his YouTube vlog that a page on Instagram uploaded his photo and declared him as one of the contestants of the upcoming season of Bigg Boss. He said, “Arey bhai, I am not going to Bigg Boss 19. Main Pareshaan hogaya hu (I am fed up). Some random PR page put up my photo along with a few others, claiming we are taking part in the upcoming season. That’s not true.”
Gaurav Taneja also noted that Bigg Boss had approached him several times, once when he was doing FitMuscleTV before Covid-19, and second time when there was a couple special season. He said, “ I told them I was busy at that time. You won’t see me on the show this season. However, I have had several meetings with the makers in the past five years, but things couldn’t work out between us. My daily routine is very packed, and I don’t think I can follow it on the show.”

Continuing further, he stated that he doesn’t want to be a part of a show that edits content without his knowledge. He shared that he doesn’t want to take the risk of someone else deciding his image. He added, “If you ever find me on one of those shows, where I have risked my image and reputation, just know I have been paid extremely well.”
Elaborating further, Gaurav Taneja also addressed his diplomatic approach towards the show and said you can not make tall claims with such a big show. Nobody knows the future, and it is possible that one day circumstances bring you to work with them. He also took actor Ranvir Shorey’s example and mentioned, “What if I am left with no source of income and no option but to take part in Bigg Boss–just like actor Ranvir Shorey, who shared ‘kaam hi nahi hai toh karna padega’ (I had to do it since I had no work)?”
During the same vlog, Gaurav Taneja also mentioned that the makers used his name to create buzz around the show. “Good marketing move. By using my name, they created a hype for Bigg Boss 19,” he expressed. The YouTuber also wished well for the upcoming contestants.
