Singer Harshdeep Kaur performed a soulful rendition of the 'Mool Mantra' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a meeting with the Sikh Sangat at his residence in New Delhi. The meeting was held on the eve of PM Modi's 75th birthday. Harshdeep Kaur, part of a committee formed for the safekeeping and dignified display of the revered Sikh relic 'Jore Sahib', was requested by PM Modi to sing 'Ik Onkar', which she gladly did. The 'Jore Sahib' is a pair of footwear attributed to Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur.
Harshdeep Kaur, who was part of the Sikh community committee, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and later shared a series of pictures from the meeting. She wrote, "So honoured to have met with the Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji on the Eve of his 75th Birthday at his residence. What made this meeting even more special for me was the moment he requested me to sing "Ik Onkar" sung by me from Gurbani."

Earlier, the members had submitted recommendations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the safekeeping and dignified public display of the revered Sikh relic Jore Sahib—a pair of footwear attributed to Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. Believed to be over 300 years old, the sacred artefacts have been preserved by the Puri family for generations. The relic consists of two distinct pieces: Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj’s right-foot footwear, measuring 11 by 3.5 inches and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji’s left-foot footwear, measuring 9 by 3 inches.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri shared the profound spiritual connection his family has with the revered Sikh relic, 'Jore Sahib', a pair of footwear attributed to Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. He highlighted that his family has been entrusted with the custodianship of these sacred relics for over 300 years, a responsibility bestowed upon them by Guru Gobind Singh himself.
According to Puri, the Guru allowed his family to keep the 'Jore Sahib' due to their unwavering devotion and service. This long-standing relationship underscores the deep respect and reverence the Puri family has for the Sikh Gurus and their teachings. The relic holds immense historical and spiritual significance, symbolizing the Guru's teachings and legacy. Puri emphasised the importance of preserving such relics, not just as artifacts but as symbols of faith and heritage that continue to inspire millions.
