Ikkis Postponed: The moviegoers will have to wait a little longer for Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra's war drama Ikkis. The film was scheduled for release on December 25, but has now been pushed forward. Many speculated that the decision was made to avoid a clash with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's rom-com Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which is set to hit theatres this Christmas. Another reason is reportedly is the dominance of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar at the box office, which has been smashing records since its release on December 5.
Agastya Nanda And Dharmendra's Ikkis Gets New Release Date
The upcoming war drama, originally scheduled to hit cinemas on December 25, 2025, has now been pushed to January 1, 2026. Sharing the new poster, the film's production house announced the new release on Instagram. The post read, "This new year, gift yourself courage. Final #Ikkis trailer drops this weekend in theatres. A new chapter unfolds in legendary director Sriram Raghvan’s first war film. The true story of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra Awardee, Second Lt. Arun Khetarpal. Some heroes die young. Experience courage in cinemas. #Ikkis releasing on 1st January 2026."
This is not the first time Dinesh Vijan has pushed a film's release to maximize its impact at the box office. In 2017, Hindi Medium starring late Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar shifted its date after Baahubali 2 locked in its schedule, allowing the film to enjoy a strong theatrical run.
Similarly, in 2024, Chhaava's release date was locked to avoid a direct clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2. Vicky Kaushal's film was eventually released in 2025 and even received benefits from the postponement.

This time too, in Ikkis case, Dinesh Vijan has opted for a new release date as Dhurandhar continues to dominate theatres with no signs of slowing down. In addition, Hollywood's most-awaited film , Avatar: Fire and Ash, is set for a massive India release on December 19, 2025.
