Indian Idol 12 Fame Pawandeep Rajan Recalls Near-Fatal Car Accident: 'When Such Incidents Occur, You Must Accept Them'

Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan met with a serious road accident near Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, in May 2025, where he sustained fractures and injuries that required multiple surgeries. He kept his fans updated about his health throughout the healing process. Almost 7 months later, Pawandeep made a public appearance on Salim-Sulaiman’s podcast, where he recalled the horrifying phase of his life. He revealed how this experience made him realise the true value of being able to walk. The singer also shared details about the accident, stating that his car caught fire while he was inside it.

Pawandeep Rajan Recalls Near-Fatal Car Accident

During his appearance on Salim-Sulaiman’s podcast, Pawandeep shared the details about the incident. He said, “I had gotten a show. I was supposed to leave for it in the daytime, but then we left in the evening, thinking we would reach by morning. It was around 3 am, and I was asleep. By the time I woke up, the accident had already happened. The driver dozed off, and one truck was standing on the road, so he rammed the car into the truck. I was just sitting there, my door was not opening, and only one hand was working. I was telling people to help me get out of the car.”

He further stated, “Initially, no one was helping us, then the police came. The car had caught fire, and I was inside it at the time. One of them pulled me out. I don’t know how long I was inside, but when I woke up, I was out of the car. Then I was taken to the hospital. Both my legs and a hand were broken. I called up home and asked my family to come. I just thought about getting it treated as soon as possible. It has all gotten better now.”

Pawandeep also shared a life lesson he learned from this tragic accident and said he is still healing. The Indian Idol 12 fame added, "For the first month, I couldn’t even move from side to side, but now I’m able to walk a little, which makes me happy. The experience made me realise the true value of being able to walk. When such incidents occur, you must accept them, move forward, and remain positive. I’ve begun walking gradually, and I hope my mobility improves further in the coming month. After the accident, I was bedridden, and even when I flew to Mumbai with my injured leg, I had to stay immobile for another month. Slowly, I’ve started walking and even playing the guitar again. My hand has regained some strength, but it still needs more healing.”

After the incident, the singer shared a health update by posting a video of himself singing Mera Saaya Saath Hoga, from Mera Saaya, in a hospital ward. He not only charmed the staff but also delighted his fans with his energy just after undergoing the surgeries.
