Kalamkaval Box Office Collection Day 5: Mammootty’s Malayalam Movie Sees Mid-Week Dip But Inches Closer To THIS Mark

Kalamkaval Box Office Collection Day 5: Mammootty’s crime thriller, which released on December 5, marks his strong comeback after dealing with an undisclosed health issue earlier this year. In the film, the Malayalam star plays a serial killer being hunted by a determined police officer, portrayed by Jailer actor Vinayakan. Kalamkaval is performing well at the box office and is set for a solid first-week total. Kalamkaval has already become Mammootty’s highest-grossing film of the year, surpassing Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse and Bazooka.

According to Sacnilk, Kalamkaval collected Rs 2.80 crore on Tuesday, bringing its India nett total to Rs 22.2 crore. The film maintained excellent occupancy on Tuesday as well, with morning shows recording 15.40%, afternoon shows crossing 30.25%, evening shows at 39.12%, and night shows reaching 43.79%. Globally, it has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark. It is expected to surpass Eko on Wednesday and enter the list of the year’s top 10 highest-grossing Malayalam films. 

Kalamkaval OTT Release

According to reports, after completing its theatrical run, Kalamkaval will stream on SonyLIV around New Year 2026, four weeks after its release on December 5. The Malayalam movie expected to be released in multiple regional languages.

Kalamkaval Movie Plot And Cast

Mammootty plays the antagonist Stanley Das, marking his return to one of his most celebrated character types, a serial killer. He has played similar roles in films like Munnariyippu and Rorschach. In Kalamkaval, Das targets women, and the story unfolds through chapter-style segments from his life. As SI Jayakrishnan (Vinayakan) investigates, Das only grows bolder. The film’s slow-burn tension, twists, and the intense cat-and-mouse chase form the essence of this investigative thriller. Alongside Mammootty the Malayalam movie Kalamkaval’s cast also include Vinayakan as SI Jayakrishnan, Gibin Gopinath as Anand, Gayatri Arun as Shiny, Rajisha Vijayan as Divya, Shruti Ramachandran as Deepa, Azees Nedumangad as SI Babu Vijayan, Kunchan as Mathew, Biju Pappan as SP Thomas and Malavika Menon as Shruthi.
