Kangana Ranaut has found herself at the centre of another online debate after a video from her recent visit to Varanasi went viral. In the clip, the actress is seen enjoying the city’s famous street snack, tikiya chole. Soon after, several social media users accused her of throwing her disposable plate onto the road, calling her out for allegedly littering in a holy city. However, Kangana has now issued a strong clarification, insisting that the claims are false and based on a cropped, misleading video.
To counter the accusations, Kangana Ranaut shared a picture on Instagram Stories. The image was taken from a wider angle at the same food stall and showed a dustbin placed right next to the vendor. She also marked an arrow in the photo pointing directly at the bin. According to her, this is exactly where she disposed of her plate. Calling out a media outlet, Kangana wrote, “Selective clips and twisted captions are not journalism; they are propaganda. Verify facts before publishing lies.” She added that the viral video conveniently left out the dustbin that was “just inches away”, causing people to believe a false narrative.

Kangana Ranaut Journey In Politics
Kangana stepped into politics in 2024 when she contested the Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. She won the seat by over 74,000 votes, defeating Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh. The win made headlines, especially after she was slapped by a CISF officer at Chandigarh Airport the following day. Kangana later released a video message assuring her supporters that she was unharmed. Speaking about her new political responsibilities, she recently said that the job feels more like ‘social service' than a career she ever imagined. She added that she is still adjusting to the expectations that come with being an elected representative.
