Karan Tacker is one of the most versatile actors in the industry. Tacker has indeed had a remarkable career spanning over a decade in the Indian television industry. With notable roles in shows like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, where he played Viren Singh Vadhera and Special Ops, where he portrayed Farooq Ali and also IPS Amit Lodha in Khakee The Bihar Chapter, Karan has showcased his versatility as an actor. Despite such a portfolio, Karan Tacker has often talked about being rejected for reasons like being ‘too good looking’ or ‘too fit’ for roles. Recently, in an exclusive interview with The Daily Jagran, he spoke about the irony of an industry that prioritises aesthetics, yet repeatedly uses it against actors.

Looks Can Be Deceiving: Karan Tacker On The Irony Of Industry Bias

Karan Tacker noted that while some projects require a more relatable face, looks can frequently influence casting decisions. He said, "Yes, I think it's quite ironic that an industry that does deal with the exterior of it, you let the way someone looks come in the way of it."

"But I really feel like everything has a creative bend to it. Sometimes, some projects do require- creatively a more relatable face to it and I can understand that why sometimes one wouldn't fit in a character and one would fit in some character. But yes, time and again, I feel like if you look a certain way, it does come in the way of a part that you're playing," he further added.

Karan Tacker was last seen in Tanvi: The Great, alongside Anupam Kher. He is now gearing up for his upcoming web series Bhay. Karan expressed his excitement for Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Story, a biographical series based on India's first paranormal investigator, Gaurav Tiwari. Tacker noted that this role marks a significant departure from his previous work, as it falls under the paranormal and horror genres, allowing him to showcase a different side of his acting abilities.

He said, "It's for Amazon. It's called Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Story. We dropped the teaser earlier this year and I'm really looking forward to that because that is a very different genre that I'm playing. I play a guy called Gaurav Tiwari. He was a real person and India's first paranormal investigator and I'm actually very hopeful for that because it's in a very, very different light that the audience gets to see me. They used to see me very heroic and this is a very different kind of a part."
