Now, fresh reports suggest that Season 2 has been greenlit, with filming set to begin in 2026 and the story finally expected to solve the mysteries left unsolved. The first season, which premiered on October 10, 2025, followed the murder of a teenage girl and a complicated investigation led by ACP Sanyukta Das, played brilliantly by Konkona Sen Sharma. The series explored political secrets, hidden motives, and betrayals, and ended without revealing the killer, sparking several fan theories online.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the makers have now confirmed Season 2, much to the relief of fans who were eager for closure. The report revealed that the next instalment will continue straight from where the story paused, addressing the unresolved threads from Season 1. The report shared that filming for Search: The Naina Murder Case Season 2 will begin in April 2026. Konkona Sen Sharma will return as ACP Sanyukta Das, while Surya Sharma will reprise his role as ACP Jai Kanwal, her instinctive and often impulsive partner. Their dynamic was one of the highlights of the series, and viewers can expect their chemistry and tension to evolve further in the upcoming season.
