Salman Khan dropped an emotional post on social media as he remembered actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on Saturday after battling a long illness. Dev and Khan shared screenspace in 2014 action movie Jai Ho. Salman shared a throwback photo on his Instagram Stories, featuring himself and the late actor. He captioned it, “Miss you my dear brother Mukul. Rest in peace.”

Earlier, in the day, Arjun Rampal also took to his Instagram account and offered condolences to Mukul Dev’s family. “Absolutely stunned by this tragic news about Mukul Dev. Life is just so uncertain. My deepest condolences to my brother @rahuldevofficial and all the family. Praying for them to find the strength to cope in these times. RIP Mukul. Om shanti #ripmukuldev,” he wrote.

Earlier, in the day, Mukul’s brother Rahul Dev confirmed the news of his demise via an Instagram Story. He wrote, “Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully at New Delhi last night… He’s survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Please join us for cremation at 5 PM."

Mukul's funeral took place at Lodhi Crematorium in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area on May 24. In the visuals that have been circulating online, his brother and actor Rahul Dev was seen performing last rites. Mukul succumbed to severe health complications after a week-long battle in the ICU. Actress Mugdha Godse told Hindustan Times, “He was in ICU for a week with health complications, and he couldn't survive. None of us in our wildest imagination could think of this coming.”
