Mouni Roy has announced her new project. She has joined the cast of The Wives. Directed by filmmaker Madhur Bhandakar, known for Chandni Bar and Fashion, the film is a new venture that explores the untold stories behind the lives of Bollywood’s star wives. The film also stars Sonali Kulkarni, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt and others. Following the shooting announcement by the director, Mouni has now shared an update and expressed her excitement on social media.

Mouni Roy Shoots For The Wives

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Mouni shared a photo of herself with Madhur Bhandakar while posing with the film's clapboard. Along with the post, the actress wrote, "Day 1 on this new film I’m truely excited about, grateful to be creating with the maestro himself @imbhandarkar Thrilled for the journey ahead.#TheWives @pranavjain27."

Talking about the upcoming movie, Bhandarkar shared the details in the statement, “With The Wives, I want to peel back yet another glamorous layer of society and show what truly lurks beneath. This film will take a strong, unapologetic look at the secrets, challenges, and strengths of women who are frequently seen but rarely heard."

On Tuesday, Madhur Bhandakar shared the shooting commencement announcement. About The Wives Plot

The Wives will take the viwers deeper into the secret world of Bollywood' star wives. The world is full of scandal, gossip and luxury. The Wives marks Bhandarkar’s second collaboration with producer Pranav Jain following their successful project India Lockdown, which received praise upon its arrival on OTT in 2022. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film also features Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa and Freddy Daruva alongside Mouni.
