At the trailer launch of Bhooth Bangla, producer Ekta Kapoor shared a surprising story about Akshay Kumar that left many impressed. She revealed how the actor once returned a cheque after one of their films failed at the box office. The candid moment highlighted Akshay’s honesty and professionalism, while also building excitement for their much-awaited collaboration after several years.

Ekta revealed that she had always been eager to team up with Akshay. In fact, she referred to him as one of the most sincere individuals she has encountered during her lengthy acting career.
She further said, “I have always wanted to do films with Akshay sir for quite some time. One thing which many may not know is that he is one of the only actors to call me and say that he will give me back my money, since our film flopped.”

A Gesture That Left Her Shocked
Ekta confessed that she was totally surprised at his act. She stated that such an act is very uncommon in this industry, and nothing like that had happened to her before.
She further explained, “I was shocked, koi nai karta. Meri 31 saal ko mein kisne nai ki. It’s like giving casually. So, I said no. Kindly make another movie with me. I will earn a lot of money from there.”
Even though she did not mention any particular film, they made a movie together named Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara.

About Bhooth Bangla
Bhooth Bangla is a film directed by Priyadarshan, and this is yet another collaboration between him and Akshay. The film boasts an ensemble cast comprising actors such as Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi. Earlier, Akshay and Priyadarshan have made successful movies like Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Bhooth Bangla is set to release on April 17, 2026.
