Filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap, known for delivering remarkable films, has turned a year older today. He has several projects in store for his fans as an actor and director. On his special day, the makers of his upcoming film Dacoit dropped glimpses of Anurag, who plays the role of Swamy, a fearless and uncompromising cop alongside Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. Directed by Shaneil Deo, this Telugu romantic action thriller will showcase Anurag in a new avatar. The latest glimpses from the high-octane action-drama love saga have added to the growing anticipation.

Meet Anurag Kashyap As Cop Swamy From Dacoit

Taking to Instagram, Adivi Sesh shared a behind-the-scenes of Anurag Kashya and other cast members from the film Dacoit to mark his birthday in a special way. The striking visuals of Kashyap in an intense and commanding look as an inspector. From his playful side to high-octane action, Swamy has already created a buzz. Sharing the post, he wrote, "Many many happy returns of the day sir @anuragkashyap10 Your wisdom, your brilliance and most importantly, your compassion…have made this #DACOIT experience beautiful. What Is the Story Of Dacoit?

The film follows the journey of an enraged convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend who betrayed him. As he hatches a dangerous plan to entrap her, the story unfolds into an emotionally charged narrative, blending themes like love, betrayal and vengeance.

Directed by Shaneil Deo, marking his directorial debut, Dacoit is backed by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, with the story and screenplay penned by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo.

Apart from Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap, the film also stars Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla, among others, in key roles. The movie's music score is handled by Bheems Ceciroleo, while cinematography is done by Danush Bhaskar. The team is currently filming in Hyderabad, followed by an extensive schedule in Maharashtra. The film is scheduled for a pan-India release on Christmas, 25 December 2025.
