Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has once again made headlines, but this time for reasons far from his music and films. The actor is caught in a serious controversy with his wife, Jyoti Singh, as both have made shocking claims about each other amid their ongoing legal battles. The situation escalated after Jyoti accused Pawan of physical and emotional abuse, even alleging that he forced her to take abortion pills.

During a press conference held on October 8, Jyoti Singh spoke emotionally about her suffering. She said, “He says he wanted a child, but how can a man who desires a child give his wife medication to prevent it? I was given medicines every time. I had stayed quiet for a long time, but Pawan Ji has forced me to speak out today. I’m not trying to defame him, I’m only telling the truth about what happened to me.” She went on to describe the mental and physical toll it took on her. “When he gave me those medicines and I confronted him, he tortured me so much that I tried to take my own life. I consumed 25 sleeping pills at 2 am,” she claimed.

According to Jyoti, Pawan’s brother Ranu, his team member Deepak, and another associate named Vicky took her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai, where she was treated. Jyoti also stated that Pawan repeatedly gave her abortion pills, which she says caused her great distress. Later that day, Pawan Singh held his own press conference to share his side of the story. The singer denied all accusations made by Jyoti and said her claims were false. He stated, “Jyoti Singh had posted on Instagram that she was coming to meet me in Lucknow. I was already aware of her intentions and informed the authorities. When she arrived, I met her along with my brothers Hrithik and Dhananjay. Jyoti was accompanied by her brother and sister Juhi. What happened between us, only God and we know.”

Pawan further explained that Jyoti wanted to stay with him until their divorce case was settled, but he questioned how they could continue living together during a legal dispute. “I made sure she was comfortable. I even asked the staff to prepare food she liked before I left for a meeting,” he added. Addressing the public’s reaction, Pawan said, “For me, the public is like God. I would never do anything to hurt the people who have supported me. Jyoti came to my society yesterday, and I welcomed her respectfully. We spoke for nearly an hour and a half. She demanded that I help her contest elections, but that’s not in my hands. The police didn’t come because I called them; they were already there to ensure peace.” Jyoti Singh has filed a maintenance case in Ballia, while Pawan’s divorce case continues in Arrah. Both remain firm in their statements, and the matter is still under legal review.
