Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana is all set to release globally, but fans in India will have to wait two extra days to watch it in theatres. The epic will first arrive in international markets on November 6, 2026, while its India release is currently planned for November 8. Producer Namit Malhotra has now explained why the film has different release dates in overseas territories and India, putting an end to the growing curiosity around its theatrical schedule.

Speaking to NDTV, Malhotra explained that international markets generally follow a Friday release pattern, which is why the film will open there on November 6.

He said, “So we are releasing internationally on November 6. The international distribution works from a Friday standpoint, so that’s why it’s releasing on the 6th of November. But in India, we are currently targeting the Diwali release.”

Therefore, overseas audiences will get their first theatrical look at the epic on Friday, while Indian viewers are expected to watch it during the Diwali weekend.
