Ranveer Singh has been in the news after speculations surfaced about him producing the Shaktimaan series following the scrapping of the hit superhero movie. Not only this, several reports suggested that he would team up with actor Mukesh Khanna, who originally brought the character of Shaktimaan to life on screen. However, Ranveer's team has broken their silence on these rumours. Refuting the reports, they revealed that the actor is busy working on his much-awaited movies Don 3 and Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar and has no plans to step into a production venture at this point.

Ranveer Singh NOT Producing Shaktimaan

As quoted by India Today, the actor's team confirmed that "The news about Ranveer Singh acquiring rights to develop a new superhero (Shaktimaan) project as the producer holds no truth. He is currently busy shooting for Aditya Dhar’s next and then, Don 3 is also on the cards for him."

Ranveer is going to begin shooting for Don 3 later this year. Currently, he is focusing on Dhurandar, which is being directed under the vision of Aditya Dhar, who is known for delivering movies like Uri: The Surgical Strike and Article 370. The source also informed that Dhurandhar is proving to be both physically and emotionally challenging.

After rumours of Singh playing a Shaktimaan, didn't went well with the OG Mukesh Khanna. Earlier, in a conversation with Shardul Pandit on his podcast, he revealed how Ranveer was interested in playing the superhero role but also clarified that he never said he is the next Shaktimaan. He said, "For the last four years, people have been asking me this question. Two years were lost to the COVID era, and the other two got tangled in controversy. Ranveer Singh was very eager—desperate, even—to do Shaktimaan. I’ve said many good things about him. But in the end, I had to clarify: I never said he is Shaktimaan. I praised his performance, his energy—he spent three hours with me and was very passionate about the role. But I want to see Shaktimaan as Shaktimaan. I’ve lived with that character for 30 years. So today, I can’t tell you whether Shaktimaan is coming or if it even should come."

Shaktimaan, a superhero television series created and produced by Mukesh Khanna, aired in 1997. Mukesh Khanna's titular superhero gained popularity and received immense recognition around the world. Fans can’t imagine seeing any other actor playing such a role, not even Khanna himself.
