Raveena Tandon’s Close Aide Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Rs 25 Lakh Jewellery From Family Home

Raveena Tandon House Theft: A woman has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly stealing jewellery and luxury items worth nearly Rs 25 lakh from the home of film producer Rajiv Tandon, who is the brother of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon. According to official reports, the suspect had worked closely with the family as a trusted caretaker for several years before carrying out the robbery.

The Juhu Police identified the accused as 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria, a resident of the Khar area in Mumbai. Chhabria had been known to the family since 2020 through mutual contacts. Following the tragic death of her husband and parents, she reportedly grew much closer to the household and was employed specifically to care for Raveena’s 86-year-old elderly mother, Veena Tandon. Over time, she gained the complete trust of the family and was granted unrestricted access to private sections of the residence.

Raveena Tandon’s Family Robbed Of Valuables Worth Rs 25 Lakh

According to the first information report filed by Rajiv Tandon, the crime came to light on 2 October 2025. The family members were inspecting a secure digital safe on the second floor of the house in preparation for the upcoming Dussehra festival. To their shock, they discovered that the locker had been forcibly tampered with and broken open.

A large collection of valuable items was missing from the safe. The stolen goods included gold bangles, necklaces, rings, earrings, and a diamond-studded mangalsutra belonging to Veena Tandon. Additionally, two highly expensive luxury wristwatches owned by Rajiv Tandon were missing from the room.

When suspicions arose, Rajiv Tandon confronted Rashi Chhabria about the missing valuables. Police stated that she initially denied any involvement but later admitted to the theft. While she successfully returned the two luxury watches, she claimed that the gold and diamond jewellery had already been handed over to an associate named Jagdish. She repeatedly assured the family that the items would be returned safely.

However, the jewellery was never recovered. Rajiv Tandon also alleged that Rashi Chhabria tried to intimidate him through an accomplice who claimed to be a police informer. This individual threatened to implicate Rajiv in a false narcotics case if he continued to demand the return of the stolen items. Following these empty promises and threats, Rajiv approached the local authorities. The police arrested Rashi Chhabria on May 21, and she was remanded to police custody until 29 May while investigations continue to trace the missing jewellery.
