Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's debut romantic drama, Saiyaara, has smashed all records at the box office and has become one of the biggest releases of the year. Since its release on July 18, the film has been applauded for its performances and gripping storyline by Mohit Suri. Amidst the theatrical success, several videos are going viral on social media in which fans are seen crying, breaking down and expressing their feeling during screenings in theatres. After such videos, fans wondered if the makers were engaging in paid promotions to attract audiences to cinema halls. Amid such claims, Mohit Suri addressed the matter, stating that we have not done anything.

Saiyaara Director On Paid Viral Theatre Videos Claims

Mohit Suri reacted to the ongoing claims about paid viral theatre videos. In a conversation with Zoom, the director said, “We have tried to be honest all through this film; people think the viral videos in the theatres were created, but we have not done that."

Besides him, Saiyaara’s producer and YRF CEO, Akshaye Widhani, recently opened up about the people paid for crying and reacting in theatres claims. In a recent interview with India Today, he clarified, “None of those people were planted in theatres. Whether it’s the person on a drip, the one yelling at the screen, or the guy who took off his shirt and danced – these are genuine fans reacting with real emotions. It’s funny when you start receiving calls from people telling you how much they cried, and you’re actually thanking them for it."
