While the Tiger actor commended the youth for demanding reforms to the education system, social media users were quick to react by sharing an old video where his family joked about him using leaked exam papers during his school days.
Salman Khan Backs CJP's Student Protests
On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the 60-year-old actor took to social media to support the nationwide demonstrations led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The protests began following alleged paper leaks in the NEET exams, an issue that has affected over two million medical aspirants across the country.
Expressing sadness over the violent clashes between police and students during the 'Chalo Sansad' march in New Delhi on July 20, Salman Khan wrote, "It was such a peaceful movement, feel so sad that it had to take a violent turn."

Salman Khan further added, "My heart goes out to the students and their families who were hurt. Paper leak is a very serious issue, and I am glad to know and see that the kids of our country have come together for a better educational system, and their parents supported them."
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor further praised the courage of the students, adding, "This andolan, this protest, is the right way to go about it, and the students have done this peacefully. So courageous and brave. Driven and motivated towards education, this generation will make India proud."
Salman Khan also warned political parties against taking advantage of the situation, stating, "This issue is between the students and the educational system, it should not be hijacked politically, the credit should only go to the students of our country, and I am sure the government will also give them all the support and make a stronger educational system."

Salman Khan's Resurfaced Video Sparks Online Backlash
Shortly after Salman Khan published his post, an old video clip from an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2020 began circulating online.
In the clip, his father, Salim Khan, recalled a light-hearted story about a man named Ganesh who frequently visited their house. Salim Khan had joked on the show, "Pata laga jab exam ka paper leak hota tha, woh inko laake deta tha."
