Tamil actor Krishna has gone missing. This came after his name surfaced in a high-profile drug-related investigation, following the recent arrest of actor Srikanth by the Greater Chennai Police. The actor is known for films like Veera, Kazhugu 2, Kalari and Maari 2. According to reports, Krishna switched off his phone, making it difficult for authorities to track him down. In response, the police have formed five special teams to locate the actor and bring him in for questioning.
The investigation gained momentum after Pradeep, a drug supplier, was arrested and allegedly confessed to supplying drugs to both Srikanth and Krishna. The police had summoned Krishna for an inquiry, but he seems to have gone into hiding, reportedly in Kerala, where he was supposedly filming.
Srikanth was arrested and remanded to judicial custody in connection with a drug scandal that began with a bar brawl investigation. The probe led to a former AIADMK IT Wing member, Prasad, whose phone revealed WhatsApp chats pointing to a drug trail, implicating supplier Pradeep Kumar, who in turn named Srikanth.
Actor Srikanth was arrested after admitting to drug use during the production of the film Theengarai, which was produced by Prasad, a former AIADMK IT Wing executive. Srikanth claimed Prasad introduced him to drugs, suggesting they would enhance his performance.
Srikanth's blood samples were sent for forensic testing, which confirmed drug use, leading to his arrest. He was remanded to judicial custody till July 7 and will be held in a first-class facility due to his public profile and health concerns.
Investigators suspect Srikanth procured drugs over 40 times and have tracked transactions totaling Rs 4.72 lakh from him to alleged supplier Pradeep Kumar, strengthening the case against the actor.
