The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 2: The Bengal Files, the much anticipated film directed by Vivek Agnihotri, finally hit theaters on September 5, 2025. However, there were issues with it and a direct conflict with Tiger Shrofs's blockbuster action movie Baaghi 4 during its premiere, so it wasn't without drama. Despite its poor opening performance, the movie has made considerable progress on its second day. After earning Rs 1.75 crore on the first day and Rs 2.25 crore on the second, the Bengal Files made a total of Rs 4 crore in just two days. If positive word-of-mouth spreads, the film may gradually gain momentum, as evidenced by the tiny growth from its opening day.
The Bengal Files Day-Wise Collection (sacnilk)
Day 1 - Rs 1.75 crore
Day 2 - Rs 2.25 crore
Total - Rs 4 crore
The Bengal Files stars Mithun Chakraborty along with Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Simrat Kaur in the lead roles. The ensemble is completed by Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur.
The Bengal Files vs The Kashmir Files
The Bengal Files' opening figures are glaringly inferior to those of the director's last hit film. Released in 2022, The Kashmir Files became one of the most talked-about films of the past few years after earning Rs 3.55 crore on its first day of release. The Bengal Files only made around 30% of the Rs 1.75 crore it took to premiere.
The Bengal Files vs Baaghi 4
The Bengal Files is up against Baaghi 4 despite the minor improvement. Despite being marketed as a powerful political drama, Vivek Agnihotri's political drama is way behind Tiger Shroff movie, which has earned Rs 21 crore. Baaghi 4 also stars Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Sandhu and Sonam Bajwa in significant roles.
The Bengal Files, which was released on September 5, has generated conflicting reactions from both spectators and critics. Even while performers have received considerable appreciation, the film's overbearing style has also been criticized.
The Bengal Files Protests in Bengal
Recently, a crowd gathered outside the state's Habra city's Rupkatha Cinema Hall to express disapproval of the film's unofficial prohibition. They demanded that The Bengal Files be screened while brandishing the Indian flag and posters for the film. Vivek Agnihotri reacted to the protests and wrote on X (earlier Twitter), "Finally, Bengalis in Bengal are protesting at cinema halls against the unofficial ban of #TheBengalFiles. You can also protest by tagging all big multiplex chains."

The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC administration in West Bengal has not formally banned The Bengal Files. The theater owners, however, have agreed not to show the movie. Additionally, it should be mentioned that none of the theater owners have released an official statement outlining their reasons for not showing the movie in Bengal.
Whether Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files can bounce back or continue its slow run will depend on how well it does on Sunday.
