The 83-year-old actor penned an emotional message on his personal blog about how tough it can be for people to recover physically and mentally from the trauma of surgery and staying in the ICU.
He wrote, "Hospital, surgery, and ICU; under the care of capable doctors and medical staff, discharge from the hospital and returning home. The journey back home is often the most difficult phase—physically, mentally, and practically. You are a respected champion, and then one day defeat stands before you. It becomes one of the toughest moments of your life."

He continues, "Some fight, some don’t. The ones who continue fighting and keep their courage intact are always champions. While others come to terms and live off past glories. That’s for the individual to decide. Not wrong either. Just be happy and healthy."

Amitabh Bachchan was rumoured to have been hospitalised in May 2026. But a source later said he had just gone to Nanavati Hospital for his regular monthly health check-up and returned home the same day. The source also dismissed rumors about his health, saying the actor is fine.
