Indian Gujarati-language supernatural psychological horror film Vash Level 2 is now streaming on Netflix. The movie is set 12 years after the events of the previous film. The story follows Atharva, who is reluctantly drawn back into battle after a group of schoolgirls are discovered under a violent, puppet-like trance. The incident is linked to Pratap, the black magician directly responsible for Aarya’s current condition.

When Vash Level 2 hit the theatres, it created a stir as it received strong reception from the audience as well as critics alike. The film's storyline was highly praised upon its release. As Vash Level 2 is now available to watch on OTT, is it worth the hype?

Is Vash Level 2 worth the hype?

Right from the first scene, Vash Level 2 sets up an atmosphere of suspense. The scene where young girls are brought under control through tantric practices and mantras is gripping. Not only this, ten schoolgirls, under subjugation, forcefully throw themselves from the building will shake you to the core. However, the story takes a dramatic turn when Vashikaran seems more like a zombie attack. Not scary, but it feels funny at times.

Though Vash Level 2 is intriguing in parts, it didn’t quite match the impact of its predecessor. Particulary, Janki Bodiwala's character was not utilised well. Her presence deserved more depth and significance in the storyline. If you have watched part 1 of this supernatural horror movie, the Vash Level 2 becomes a much-watch. For those who like psycholical horror thrillers, Vash Level 2 is a one-time watch.

Vash Level 2 received mixed reviews from the audience. A user wrote on X, "Crazy, wild, thrilling, and beyond. A well-crafted sequel to a great movie. Tight screenplay, great acting, & a story that keeps you at the edge of your seat. Krishnadev Yagnik is a genius & is taking Gujarati cinema to great heights. Screams won't let you settle." Another user called it "pretty flat," adding, "#VashLevel2 is pretty flat if you compare it to #Vash. The film starts with the bang where the entire school episode is thrilling & keep you glued to the screen but once that villain is unmasked the story seems completely off the track. Performances," a netizen wrote, "the film gradually loses grip & ends up as an okayish exp," others also dropped similar reactions.

Vash Level 2: Box Office Reception

The film Vash Level 2 achieved significant box office success in India, earning a net collection of over Rs 13.54 crore, which exceeded its budget and performed notably better than the previous installment. It registered an impressive first-week collection of Rs 10 crore and a worldwide gross total of approximately Rs 13.88 crore.
