Kal Ho Naa Ho, which was made by Dharma Productions, explores the tales of three individuals and what happens when their paths cross. Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta all had outstanding performances as the main characters in Kal Ho Naa Ho, while Jaya Bachchan, Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, Lilette Dubey, and Delnaaz Paul played key parts. Punjabi-American Naina Kapur and her family, grandmother Lajjo, mother Jennifer, younger brother Shiv, and younger sister Gia, live in New York. Aman Mathur, their neighbour, enters their unstable family and permanently alters their life.

What If Aman Survived?

I didn't like the original end, even though Kal Ho Naa Ho created characters that I shall never forget. For Aman, Naina, and Rohit, a different narrative would have provided a more emotionally satisfying end, to me at least.

Aman's decision to conceal his terminal illness and his unselfish devotion for Naina (Preity Zinta) make his passing all the more tragic. I was devastated and wished Aman had survived to see a future with Naina. Can you imagine, the love triangle wouldn't wrap up with compromise if Aman lived? In fact, instead of compromising for stability with Rohit, Naina might finally discover the extent of her love for Aman.

To be honest, Aman and Naina made sense. Twenty years later, the tale of Naina choosing Rohit as a consolation prize does not hold up well. Rohit was an all-around wonderful guy who deserved better than to be duped into being married to the girlfriend of a dying man who just considered him a friend.

And our Gujju kid Rohit would have at last discovered the kind of love that Aman thought was meant for him. A love in which he was someone's priority, rather than a consolation prize. He would go on a path of self-discovery, healing, and entering a relationship full of warmth, humor and a true second shot at happiness.

With an unexpected cameo, Kareena Kapoor is the ideal choice to portray this surprising new love in Kal Ho Naa Ho. A lively, endearing figure that unexpectedly enters Rohit's life and restores color after tragedy.

Aman and Naina, meantime, would ultimately live the life that was meant for them! A tender, private moment in which the two sip coffee while sitting outside on a chilly evening with their fingers entwined and reliving every beat of their mesmerising love story. There was no suffering or sacrifice—just two individuals who overcame destiny to achieve their happily ever after.
