In the era when male actors feared to perform basic action sequences, 90s heroine Kamini Kaushal, who passed away at the age of 98 on November 14, 2025, performed a risky jump without a stunt double and that too in a saree. The decision left the entire crew in doubt, with some betting she would refuse in the end, but Kaushal had then said, "If the story needs it, I should do it."
The scene started and the crew stood silently as their eyes were only fixed on Kamini Kaushal as she prepared for the daring jump. In between tensions, Kamini remained calm and composed and when she finally took the leap, she executed it with flawless precision. Seeing her dedication and discipline towards cinema, the team was left stunned.
Saree pleats tucked, eyes sharp with focus and then her much-awaited stunt, the shot was completed, it became clear that this wasn’t just a scene done well—it was a remarkable reminder of the strength, resolve and professionalism that women in Indian cinema have always brought to the screen. One cameraman was even heard telling the director, half in disbelief, "This girl has more courage than half the heroes in Bombay."
