Major Mohit Sharma's family, claimed that Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, was modeled on his life without proper credit, which caused legal issues. The spy thriller, which is regarded as the most violent Indian film, also stars R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal.  However, the movie encountered some difficulties before its December 5 release. The parents of the late Major Mohit Sharma, the recipient of the Ashoka Chakra and Sena Medal, had petitioned the Delhi High Court to halt the movie's release.

What Did Major Mohit Sharma's Family Say?

Major Mohit Sharma's family claimed in their petition that Dhurandhar, without their consent or that of the Indian Army, is based on his life, undercover operations, and martyrdom of the distinguished Special Forces officer. They wanted to safeguard their son's legacy. Later on, though, the director of the movie made it clear that his spy thriller is not based on the Major's life.

Ranveer Singh's character in Dhurandhar infiltrates a terrorist organization that operates in Pakistan, similar to the Major Mohit Sharma.  As a result, the family moved to the Delhi High Court in search of an instant stay. Not only that, but social media also conjectured that the actor's character—as well as many others—were inspired by real people.
