Directed by Balaji Mohan, Nayyi Navelli got a lukewarm response from audiences. Industry observers point to this as the main reason it could not stay in theatres for longer. Yami Gautam shouldered the second half on her but that wasn't enough for the movie to make the cut.
The horror comedy depended heavily on word-of-mouth, but that never picked up enough to lift its numbers beyond the first two weeks. As a result, it is now being treated as a commercial disappointment.
Nayyi Navelli Budget And Box Office Recovery
Trade reports estimate the production and promotional budget of Nayyi Navelli at somewhere between Rs 35 crore and Rs 50 crore. Even at the lower end of that range, the movie has not managed to recover its cost. With a gross of Rs 31.95 crore in India, it is heading for a loss.
With the theatrical run almost over and collections barely moving, Nayyi Navelli will end its box office journey as a losing affair.
