Christopher Nolan’s 'Oppenheimer' is touted as one of the highly-anticipated films of the year. 'Oppenheimer' is based on real story. The movie stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who is known as the "father of the atomic bomb" for his work on the Manhattan Project, which produced the first nuclear weapons during World War II.

'Oppenheimer' To Get Post-Midnight Shows In India

Recently, there were reports that owing to a large demand for Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh-starrer’s IMAX tickets, the exhibitors will play the shows up to 4 am. According to reports, certain PVRs in Mumbai have already started accepting reservations for the 3, 4, and 5 AM shows of the film. Currently, it is anticipated that the similar tendency will continue in a number of IMAX theaters in other significant large cities as well.

According to a report in Newsroom Post, an exhibitor said that since 'Oppenheimer' is a big movie, nobody is going to watch it on OTT or TV screens which is why it will run in theatres pos-midnight. He also expressed excitement over fans’ craze for an adult-rated Hollywood film.

About 'Oppenheimer'

The film is based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin about J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons on the Manhattan Project. The movie also highlights the race against time that the Americans faced to complete their bomb before Nazi Germany could finish building theirs.
