'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' were one of the most awaited films of 2023 and they have finally been released in theatres. Even though both films have different genres, they are performing exceptionally well at the box office. But in India, 'Oppenheimer' can be seen ruling the box office, whereas, 'Barbie' also has a decent collection at the box office.

Barbie Box Office Collection:

According to the website Sacnilk, 'Barbie' collected Rs 2.50 crore as per early estimate on day 4. The movie collected Rs 7.15 crore on day 3 and its total box office collection now stands at Rs 21.15 crore.

Oppenheimer Box Office Collection:

According to the website Sacnilk, 'Oppenheimer' has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office and it collected Rs 7 crore as per early estimate on day 4. Its total box office collection now stands at Rs 55 crore.

About Barbie:

'Barbie' stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken respectively. The movie also stars Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Ana Cruz Kayne, Emma Mackey Nicola Coughlan, Dua Lipa, Kate McKinnon, Hari Nef, Sharon Rooney, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, Scott Evans among others.

In an interview with The Guardian, Greta Gerwig revealed that she was terrified before directing 'Barbie'. “It’s not like a superhero, who already has a story. It felt very much like it was going to be an adaptation. Except what we were adapting is a doll – an icon of the 20th century,” she said.

She further told The Guardian, "It felt complicated enough, sticky enough, strange enough, that maybe there could be something interesting there to be discovered. I kind of had two thoughts: I love this and I can’t bear it if anyone else makes it. And they’ll never let us make this movie.”

About Oppenheimer:

In an interview with Sucharita Tyagi, Cillian Murphy was asked about Robert Oppenheimer being influenced by Bhagavad Geeta and the actor revealed he also read the sacred book in his preparation.

“I did read the Bhagavad Gita in preparation, and I thought it was an absolutely beautiful text, very inspiring. I think it was a consolation to him, he kind of needed it and it provided him a lot of consolation, all his life,” he said.

The movie has received an R rating. The movie stars Cillian Murphy in the titular role with Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh in pivotal roles.
