Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' is currently generating tons of buzz across the globe. The bookings of the show have begun with tickets quickly getting sold in India, despite witnessing a clash with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's 'Barbie' to be released on the same day, July 21.

'Oppenheimer' features Cillian Murphy in the lead role with Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. in pivotal roles. A prominent film trade analyst, Ramesh Bala claimed that 'Oppenheimer' has already sold over 3,00,000 tickets in advance on BookMyShow in India, and around 42 per cent of these tickets are for IMAX.

The film is anticipating a massive first-day collection in India. Tickets worth Rs 2,450 each are already sold out as people are going crazy to witness the film as. These tickets are for IMAX screens at PVR ICON located in Lower Parel in Mumbai for 7 PM and night 10 PM shows on the opening day of the film.

The show also offers tickets worth Rs 1,800 which are almost sold out. IMAX has also planned early morning shows from 12:01 AM to 3:00-3:30 AM which are already houseful.

In North America, according to a prior agreement, 'Mission Impossible 7' screens will be replaced by 'Oppenheimer' in all IMAX screens after 9 days. The film revolves around scientist J Robert Oppenheimer and is set against the backdrop of World War II.

'Oppenheimer' was also known as the 'father of the atomic bomb'. During a moment in history, he knew that testing the atomic bomb might ignite the atmosphere and destroy the world, but he hit the button anyway.

The film is directed and written by Christopher Nolan and is based on the book 'American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer' by Kai Bird and the late Martin J Sherwin.

Cillian Murphy will be essaying the role of Robert Oppenheimer with Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves Jr, Emily Blunt as botanist Katherine Oppenheimer, and Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock.
