Almost one year after the widespread internet meme of him being slapped, Will Smith appears to be willing to find some humour in the situation, although perhaps not completely. In a recent TikTok duet video, Smith was seen listening attentively as a user named Sam Rossi, also known as Miss Money Working, shared the advantages of asking any inanimate object what it thinks of you. In the caption, Rossi suggested, that this approach works, "because everything has consciousness."

"You can pick up a pen and ask it how it sees you or what it thinks of you," she said. "And you will get an answer in your mind from your intuition. You can ask your car what it thinks of you, you can even ask money what it thinks of you."

In the duet video, Will, who was seated on a couch, picked up his Academy Award trophy, which he had won in the Best Actor category for his role in King Richard and began saying something when the video ended.

He seemed to have a curious expression, as if he was contemplating asking the Oscar what it thought of him after the infamous slap incident, and he appeared to be about to say something just as the video ended.

The video garnered significant feedback, and a number of Will's fans praised him for his ability to make a joke about the slap incident, which he had previously acknowledged regretfully. Some viewers expressed their thoughts on what the Oscar statue might say in response. One fan suggested, "What have we learned?", as if the award were asking a question. Another individual posed a hypothetical question on behalf of the Oscar, asking, "You OK, bro?" in response to the incident.

After the infamous incident at the Academy Awards last year where Will took offense and slapped Chris Rock when he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, Smith has spoken about the matter on multiple occasions. However, each time he has done so, it has been in a serious, if not emotional, manner.

One day after the slap incident, Will even apologised to Chris Rock and acknowledged that his behaviour was "unacceptable and inexcusable." He subsequently released a six-minute video four months later, providing a more detailed explanation of his actions. "I am deeply remorseful, and I'm trying to be remorseful without being ashamed of myself," Smith said at the time. "I'm human, and I made a mistake, and I'm trying not to think of myself as a piece of s---."

As a result of the incident, Will was prohibited from attending the Academy Awards for a decade, and the 95th ceremony was aired on March 12.

During a recent appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Will became emotional and shed tears while reminiscing about previous traumatic experiences and expressing how he had bottled up his anger for a long period of time.

He said, "That was a horrific night, as you can imagine. There are many nuances and complexities to it. But, at the end of the day, I lost it, and I guess what I would say, you just never know what somebody's going through, you know?" Smith said, adding, "That's not who I want to be."

Therefore, this hilarious new TikTok video hits different. After all, humor has the ability to heal wounds. However, it leaves behind the most important question – What did the Oscar say?
