Captain America On OTT: The eagerly awaited fourth installment of the Captain America series, Captain America: Brave New World, will be accessible for streaming on the over-the-top platform JioHotstar on May 28. The movie, which opened in theaters on February 14, 2025, marked a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain America: Brave New World, which was directed by Julius Onah, depicts Anthony Mackie's character Sam Wilson as he assumes the full responsibilities of Captain America. He becomes caught up in a risky international incident following a crucial meeting with Harrison Ford's character, recently elected US President Thaddeus Ross. What transpires is a gripping, international thriller in which Sam Wilson has to solve a riddle that threatens world peace before a sinister genius causes widespread mayhem.
Captain America: Brave New World's OTT release invited tons of reactions from Marvel fans on X (previously Twitter). A very few seemed to enjoy the fourth installment, while others didn't like the plot so much. One of the users wrote, "The vision of Julius Onah is clear. The world, mostly America, is getting used to a new Captain America, a corrupt government with secrets yet to be shown in the light, and the question of, "what makes a hero? (sic)."
Another user wrote, "Just watched Captain America: Brave New World on Disney+ and I genuinely can’t believe how bad it was."
The third user wrote, "Captain America: Brave New World (2025). At times fun, but superficially, an awful film with choppy dialogue, ZERO character development and stagnant themes."
A fourth user wrote, "Just watched Captain America: Brave New World. I don’t get the hate for this movie at all, it’s a solid 8/10 film. It was enjoyable, fun and sets up Sam as a great leader for the franchise. Here’s where he truly embodies his own version of Captain America and I respect that."

Feels and looks (obvious ADR, wildly inconsistent effects quality) like it changed direction a couple times but what works works and is entertaining. Lots of great character moments; dug the tiny Widow but wish she had more to do. pic.twitter.com/Ok1DY1SmE6
So watching Captain America Brave New World.

I bit the bullet and watched it anyway.
Not as horrible as I was thinking it would be. It's far from perfect but I can see what they tried to do.
A C- film. They tried easy too hard to remind you that Sam was Captain America now.… pic.twitter.com/NrAiPnWjbf

5/10
It was "fine", that's it, there's literally nothing to talk about. Nothing wrong with it but theres just isnt anything special about it for me. Pros and cons in replies pic.twitter.com/wiXNdvRkR2
Unimpressed. Such a filler. Nothing had time to breathe. The new captain America (Sam) has been pushed on us. Anthony M doesn't actually act well as a superhero. All the tough guy one liners. Anthony's fault or the script? Not sure the director had a firm grasp on this at all.
