Freedom At Midnight Season 2 OTT Release: Following the successful season 1, Freedom at Midnight, an Indian historical drama web series, is returning with a new season. Adapted from Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins’ book, director Nikkhil Advani brought to the screen the pivotal events and socio-political dynamics leading up to the partition in 1947. In season 2 of Freedom At Midnight, the story will uncover the aftermath of India’s Independence. The makers dropped the trailer along with the release date announcement.

When And Where To Watch Freedom At Midnight Season 2?

Freedom at Midnight season 2 will be available for streaming on Sony LIV starting January 9, 2026. On Tuesday, SonyLIV dropped the trailer of season 2 on Instagram. The post read, "The electrifying story of the aftermath of India’s Independence - Freedom At Midnight Season 2, streaming on 9th Jan only on Sony LIV. Freedom at Midnight Season 2 Trailer

The trailer delves into the discussion about carving new nations out of old India, dividing united India into two countries. It marks the beginning of India's Independence in 1947 and its aftermath. Various perspectives of the leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohammad Jinnah, are shown in the trailer.

Freedom At Midnight Season 2: Cast And Crew

Helmed by showrunner and director Nikkhil Advani, Freedom at Midnight Season 2 sees the return of the writing team, consisting of Abhinandan Gupta, Adwitiya Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Revanta Sarabhai and Ethan Taylor. The political thriller features a star cast including Sidhant Gupta, Chirag Vohra, Rajendra Chawla, Arif Zakaria and Ira Dubey, along with KC Shankar, RJ Malishka, Rajesh Kumar, Luke McGibney, Andrew Cullum, Richard Teverson, Alistair Finlay and Cordelia Bugeja in key roles.

Sharing details about season 2, Nikkhil Advani said, “Season 2 of Freedom at Midnight takes us even deeper into India’s most defining months. Through this season, we’ve focused on bringing alive not just the political corridors where history was written, but the human stories that carried its weight.
