Mahavatar Narsimha OTT Release: After creating waves in cinemas earlier this year, Mahavatar Narsimha is now ready for its digital premiere. Released in theatres on 25th July 2025, the mythological animated feature will be available for streaming on Netflix from 19th September 2025. Fans who missed its big-screen run, or those who wish to revisit the epic story, can now enjoy it from the comfort of their homes. Produced by Kleem Productions and presented by Hombale Films, Mahavatar Narsimha will stream in five Indian languages – Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. 

Netflix India confirmed the release on Instagram with the post, “Bhakti shakti ka roop legi. Aa raha hai Mahavatar Narsimha. Watch Mahavatar Narsimha, out 19 September, 12:30 PM, on Netflix.” Speaking about the release earlier, director Ashwin Kumar shared that the film will be available globally with English subtitles at first. Over time, dubbed versions in English, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, and Russian are also planned, to take Indian mythological stories to international audiences. He also revealed that his inspiration came from Korean and Japanese anime, which played a huge role in shaping the film’s visual style and storytelling approach.

The Story Of Mahavatar Narsimha

The film narrates the story of Lord Vishnu’s fierce avatar, Narsimha a half-man, half-lion incarnation. He appears to protect his devoted follower, Prahlad Maharaj, and to defeat the tyrant demon king Hiranyakashyap. With breathtaking animation, powerful music, and emotional storytelling, the film combines traditional mythology with modern cinematic techniques, making it appealing for both young viewers and older audiences familiar with the legend.

Beginning Of Mahavatar Cinematic Universe

Mahavatar Narsimha is just the start of a much larger vision. The makers have planned a seven-part Mahavatar Cinematic Universe that will unfold over the next decade. The next instalment, Mahavatar Parshuram, is scheduled for 2027, followed by Mahavatar Raghunandan in 2029, and Mahavatar Dwarkadhish in 2031. The saga will continue with Mahavatar Gokulananda in 2033, before culminating in a two-part finale, Mahavatar Kalki, arriving in 2035 and 2037. Meanwhile, the film was one of the biggest animated hits of the year, earning more than Rs 282 crore worldwide during its theatrical run. Its success has been hailed as a milestone for Indian animation, setting the stage for more large-scale mythological projects.
