The Smile Man, a Tamil mystery crime thriller movie, was released theatrically on December 27, 2024. The movie made an underwhelming mark at the box office and was tagged as another usual serial-killer story made on the go. However, the Tamil movie has made its digital debut. Despite being labelled as a serial-killer narrative, directors Syam and Parveen anticipate the Tamil movie will find its audience and become a fan favourite in its second chance on OTT.

OTT platform Aha Tamil took to X and made the announcement of the release of the Tamil movie The Smile Man yeaterday, sharing the poster with a caption written in Tamil. The Smile Man is available to watch on Aha Tamil, which has bagged the official digital streaming rights to the movie.

About Tamil Movie The Smile Man Plot

The Tamil movie presents a unique police procedural. Its protagonist, a police officer, is diagnosed with Alzheimer's and assigned one final case before his memory completely deteriorates. This last assignment involves a serial killer terrorising Coimbatore, leaving a distinctive smiley face on victims. As the officer's memories fade, the investigation becomes increasingly complex. He relies on frequent recordings of his progress to navigate the case. With time running out, the cop faces difficult decisions at every turn, racing to apprehend the killer before he loses everything.

The Tamil movie is written by Kamala Alchemis and is helmed by the duo of filmmakers Syam and Praveen. It is produced jointly by Ka Film Company and Magnum Movies.
