New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Famous Tamil actor-director Rajashekhar died at the age of 62 on Sunday. He was receiving treatment at Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai and passed away due to ill health. Ever since the news broke, fans took to social media to express their grief.
Paying tribute to Rajasekhar, fans took to Twitter to write "RIP #Rajasekar" One user wrote, "One of the very few actors make us feel like he is part of our family through their creations or their appearances in serials!!!! RIP #Rajasekar sir !!!!!! may your soul rest in peace. And another user tweeted, "He was part of one of my fav songs 'idhu Oru ponmazhai pozhudhu' ..A Great artist RIP #Rajasekar sir..."
Rajashekhar who hailed from Chennai initially stepped his foot in the Tamil entertainment industry as a director. He directed movies such as Palaivanacholai and Chinnapoove Mella Pesu. He was also a student at the Chennai film institute.

He ushered in a new wave in the Tamil film industry and works in films like Oru Thalai ragam, Palaivancholai and Chinnapoove out of which Palaivanacholai was a hit.
As an actor, Rajashekhar made his debut in Nizhalgal (1980), directed by Bharathirajaa.
In a career spanning over than three decades, Rajasekhar has acted in over eighty films in various roles, starred in blockbuster films like Talambralu, Shrutilayalu, Aahuti, Ankusham, Magaadu, Allari Priyudu, Anna, Omkaram, Suryudu, Sivayya, Manasunna Maaraju, Maa Annayya, Simharasi, Evadaithe Nakenti and Gorintaku, among many others.
His recent contributions were mainly in the Tamil daily soap industry.
