Dia Mirza, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta all gained notoriety simultaneously after winning well-known international beauty pageants in the same year. However, their fates drove them in opposite routes as soon as they joined the Hindi cinema industry.
Dia Mirza recounted the days when she and Lara had an apartment the 'size of a matchbox' and ate instant noodles together, in a recent interview. She also claimed that Priyanka Chopra had a lot of issues to deal with, which became more difficult with time.
Dia Mirza said,"We (me and Lara) shared Wai Wai noodles, we had no money. Priyanka still had some support from her parents but Lara and I didn't. Lara was already living here because she was modelling and she had opened her heart to me and shared her apartment, which was the size of a matchbox. I remember helping her pack for her Miss Universe and going away," speaking to Zoom.
"We would both laugh hysterically like just look at us 'bhaade ke kapde.' Hum kitne glamorous lag rahe hain par bank men paise nahi hain, " she added.

Talking about Priyanka Chopra, Dia revealed, "Priyanka was just doing extraordinarily well, almost from the get-go. She had other battles to fight and deal with, and some of those intensified with time. But she was doing really well. I really had awe and respect for it. I remember thinking to myself, 'My God, if I were half the actress she is, how much further I would be able to go."
Dia Mirza recalled navigating a new city alone while talking about developing strong, unique voices in the face of comparisons to Lara and Priyanka, which were inevitable given that all three won international beauty titles.

Dia, Priyanka and Lara soon found their way into Bollywood, though, and things changed for them. She, who won the title of Miss Asia Pacific, starred in movies such as Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.
