Citadel Season 2 Update: The first season of the spy action series created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden received immense love from the viewers and became a hit. Following the success, the makers are now working on Season 2. Amazon MGM Studios has announced that it will premiere the new season in 2026. Additionally, the international spin-offs Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana, will not be returning with new seasons.
No Second Season Of Citadel Honey Bunny and Diana spin-offs
The second seasons of both Citadel: Honey Bunny featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Matilda De Angelis starrer Citadel: Diana has been cancelled by the studios. Sharing the details about Priyanka and Richard's Citadel Mothership season 2, Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios told Deadline, “Having successfully traversed India and Italy, storylines from both Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana will be woven into the upcoming second season of the mothership series Citadel."
Sharing the show's premiere release, Vernon Sanders added, "While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series, Season 2 of Citadel will be our most exhilarating yet. With high-stakes storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We’re excited to share what’s next when Citadel Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026.”
Season 2 of the Mothership series is currently in post-production. Earlier, it was slated to release in late 2025 and now it has a 2026 release. The season 1 which aired in 2023, spanned six episodes and also featured Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Moller, and Rahul Kohli, among others alongside Priyanka and Richard.
The scraping of the two spinoff series Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny has come as a shock to its fans. This decision has been taken by the makers after seeing their performance globally.
